Recommended Settings for Microsoft Teams

Nureva^® audio systems can be configured to work with Microsoft^® Teams and Microsoft Teams Room by following the steps below.

Before starting

Set up the Nureva system by following the steps in the getting started guide:

Get started with HDL200 system

Get started with HDL300 system

Get started with Dual HDL300 system

Get started with HDL310 system

Get started with HDL410 system

The following Nureva audio systems are certified for Microsoft Teams:

Setting your default device

To ensure the Nureva system is ready for conference calls it must be set as the default audio and default communication device for playback and recording within the computer's sound settings.

In Windows^®

Follow these steps to set a Nureva audio conferencing system as the default audio device for a Windows computer.

1. Click the speaker icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop.

2. Right-click Sounds.

3. The sound settings window will open.

In Windows sound settings:

Playback tab

1. Select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Nureva audio). The product name might also be shown.

2. Open the Set Default drop-down menu at the bottom of the panel.

3. Select Set as the Default Communication device.

4. Open the drop-down menu again.

5. Select Set as the Default device.

Recording tab

1. Select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Nureva audio). The product name might also be shown.

2. Open the Set Default drop-down menu at the bottom of the panel.

3. Select Set as the Default Communication device.

4. Open the drop-down menu again.

5. Select Set as the Default device.

After the sound settings have been set to the Nureva audio system, close the sound settings window and return to the desktop.

Microsoft Teams desktop client

Open Microsoft Teams Settings

1. Launch the Microsoft Teams desktop app on your computer.

2. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner.

3. In the dropdown menu, select Settings.

4. In the left-hand menu, click on Devices.

Set the Nureva Device as Your Speaker and Microphone

1. Under the Audio devices section, locate Speaker and Microphone settings.

2. Click the dropdown menu for Speaker and select your Nureva device as the output device.

3. Click the dropdown menu for Microphone and select your Nureva device as the input device.

4. Ensure Automatically adjust mic sensitivity is turned ON so Teams can optimize your voice levels dynamically.

Configure Noise Suppression

1. Scroll down to the Noise suppression section.

2. Click the dropdown menu and select Voice Isolation to minimize background noise while preserving voice clarity.

Enable Spatial Audio (Optional)

In Microsoft Teams, spatial audio creates a more realistic and immersive sound experience by simulating the distance and direction of speakers in a meeting, making it sound like they are physically located in a specific area on the screen.

1. Toggle Spatial audio ON to enhance sound positioning in supported setups.

2. Once all settings are adjusted, you can close the Settings window—Microsoft Teams will automatically save your preferences.

Your Nureva audio system is now fully optimized for Microsoft Teams meetings.
