Learn how to optimize the HDL310 system settings for your organization’s unique space. The system’s features and settings are managed using the Nureva® App and Nureva Console. It’s recommended that device settings are adjusted during a test call. All device settings can be returned to the system defaults at any time.
Before starting
Set the HDL310 system as the default audio device.
Set up the Nureva App or Nureva Console to manage the Nureva system.
Nureva App
Update
The Update button will become available when an update is available for the HDL310 system.
Calibrate
The Calibrate button runs the HDL310 system’s calibration sequence.
Restart
The Restart button restarts the HDL310 system.
Room status
The Nureva App provides network, console, USB and device indicators that show the various aspects of a room’s status. The colors and modes of the indicators show the connectivity status, with details available through a pop-up window accessed by clicking the relevant status indicator card.
The network status indicator displays the degree of connectivity the HDL310 device has with the network. The console status indicator shows the various connectivity scenarios with Nureva Console.
Network status | Nureva Console status | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Connected to a network and has an IP address. |
| Communicating with the Nureva Console server and internet services. |
| Successful direct Ethernet connection. No gateway or DHCP IP address is assigned to the connection. |
| Communicating with Nureva internet services but not Nureva Console. |
| Solid red — Connected to a network but failed to obtain an IP address. Blinking red — Unknown system error and device power cycle is required. |
| Not communicating with Nureva Console or the internet services. |
| No physical network connection. |
| The device is not connected to the internet. |
The USB status indicator provides the USB connection status, while the device status indicator shows the HDL310 connection status.
USB status | Device status | ||
|---|---|---|---|

Background noise
The background noise levels in a room can be monitored in real time in the home page of the Nureva App.
Coverage map
The unified coverage map in the Nureva App visually represents the HDL310 system’s microphone coverage. It updates in near real time with sound location data, and with it you can adjust room dimensions, create zones and monitor audio for optimal performance.

Nureva Console
Microphone
The HDL310 system’s microphone gain settings can be adjusted in the Nureva App to address issues in tonal quality for remote participants.
Speakers
Nureva Console offers options for setting the treble and bass outputs for HDL410 speakers. The available settings are determined by the firmware version installed on the device.
Firmware version 1.8 (or earlier) settings | Firmware version 1.9 (or later) settings |

Dynamic boost maximizes the speaker output and enhances speech intelligibility. Adjusting the treble and bass can affect echo-cancellation performance. It’s recommended these settings are adjusted during a test call.
Audio processing
The HDL310 system continuously auto-calibrates for optimal audio quality. Audio processing settings are available in Nureva Console and they should be adjusted only if users are experiencing problems.
Echo reduction | Noise reduction |
|---|---|
Select a lower setting if remote users notice that voices in the room are cutting out. If remote users can hear their own voices echoing, select a higher setting.
| Select a lower setting if remote users notice that voices in the room are cutting out. If remote users hear background noises such as HVAC systems or fans, select a higher setting.
|
Calibrate
Initiate calibration when the room setup has changed significantly to quickly optimize the audio performance of a Nureva audio conferencing system.
Auxiliary ports
Aux in
Connect the auxiliary input source to be output through the HDL310 system’s speakers. The signals from the aux-in port will get mixed with any signals from a USB audio source.
Aux out
Select an auxiliary output mode for interoperability with other audio systems.
Mic level (echo-canceled microphone output at mic level)
Used for recorders and mixers
Line level (default echo-canceled microphone output at line level)
Used for external devices
Speaker out (speaker output at line level)
Used for external speakers
Mixed signal (mixed microphone and speaker signals at line level)
Used for hearing augmentation and lecture capture devices
Speaker reference
Used for acoustic tracking cameras requiring reference signals from in-room speakers
Adaptive Voice Amplification
The Adaptive Voice Amplification settings can be managed in the Nureva App.
Security
Disable the QR code access
A device setup tool is available in Nureva Console for HDL310 audio conferencing systems. Each connect module has a specific QR code. When QR code access is enabled, the device setup tool adjusts the device settings. The QR code access can be disabled to prevent access to the settings. Disabling the QR code will not limit access to the tool or the installation tips.
Integrations
Local integrations
Enable local integrations to allow the HDL310 to share sound location data with third-party systems for camera tracking and switching. Some third-party cameras will require the hostname and port number to be manually entered. This information is available in the local integrations dashboard below the toggle that enables integration. Buttons are available for copying and pasting the information into the camera software.
Recovery
Reset audio settings
If it is necessary to return the HDL310 system to its default audio settings, pressing the Reset button will restore the audio settings to their original default setup. The HDL310 must be online and connected to Nureva Console to be remotely reset. Remotely resetting the device is not available if it is offline.
Restart device
When restarting the HDL310 system is required, pressing the Restart button will force the device to power cycle, turning the system off and then on again. To remotely restart the system, it must be online and connected to Nureva Console. Remotely restarting the device is not available if the device is offline.
