Using the app — iOS and iPadOS

The iOS and iPadOS® versions of the Nureva App are available from the App Store®. The Nureva App for iPhone requires iOS 16.0 (or later) and a compatible iPhone. The Nureva App for iPad requires iPadOS 16.0 (or later) and a compatible iPad.

Local area network (LAN) permission

When you first go to the Connect to device page in the iOS and iPadOS versions of the Nureva App, a permission pop-up window will request access to the local network.

  • If permission is granted: Proceed to enter the IP address and connect to the Nureva audio device.

  • If permission is not granted: After entering the IP address and trying to connect, an error message will appear. This message includes a link that directs you to the iOS settings where you can enable local network access.

  1. Open the Nureva App using an iPhone or iPad.

  2. Click Allow when prompted to allow the Nureva App to find devices on the LAN.

  3. Enter the IP address for the HDX and click Continue.

  4. When prompted for a password, enter the HDX enrollment code and click Continue.

    • If the enrollment code has been replaced with a password, enter the password.

  5. The Nureva App home page will open.

Using the app Android

The Android™ version of the app is available from Google Play™.

  1. Open the Nureva App using an Android tablet or phone.

  2. Enter the IP address for the HDX and click Continue.

  3. When prompted for a password, enter the HDX enrollment code and click Continue.

    • If the enrollment code has been replaced with a password, enter the password.

  4. The Nureva App home page will open.

Using the app browser

The Nureva App can be opened and used on a computer or mobile device that has a supported browser installed. Currently, the Chrome™ and Safari® browsers are supported.

Important

The first time using a browser to access the Nureva App, a warning may state: “Your connection to this site is not secure.” This warning appears because the Nureva audio device is protected by a self-signed certificate that is unique to Nureva devices and unknown to the browser. To continue, verify that the IP address is correct and select the browser option to proceed to the Nureva App.

  1. Open a browser and enter the HDX device’s IP address into the search bar.

  2. When prompted for a password, enter the HDX enrollment code and click Continue.

    • If the enrollment code has been replaced with a password, enter the password.

  3. The Nureva App home page will open.

Using the app direct connection

By connecting an Ethernet cable from an HDX system hub to a tablet, mobile phone or computer, a direct connection to the app is available as an alternative to accessing it over a local area network.

Important

Only port A supports direct Ethernet connections to computers for access to the Nureva App.

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the network port A on the system hub.

  2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the tablet, mobile phone or computer.

    • If an Ethernet port is not included with the device, a USB to Ethernet adapter is needed.

  3. Open a supported browser and enter the IP address.

    • Chrome and Safari browsers are supported.

    • Use 169.254.254.254 if a static IP address has not been set.

  4. Enter the enrollment code if prompted.

    • If a password has been set, use this instead of the enrollment code.

  5. Click Continue and the Nureva App home page will open.

Using the app USB connection

By connecting a USB cable from an HDX system hub to a computer, the HDX can be locally managed through the Nureva App. This is available as an alternative to accessing it over a local area network or direct Ethernet connection.

The HDX system can only be managed through a USB connection to the meeting room computer if the system hub is not connected to a network.

Important

If an HDX that has been managed locally is switched to remote management over a network, the device settings will return to default settings and may need to be readjusted.

Connect the system hub to the computer

  1. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the HDX system hub.

  2. Plug the USB-C cable into a USB-C port on the computer.

    • Use a USB A-C adapter If the computer does not have a USB-C port.

Download and install the Nureva App

  1. Download the Nureva App to the computer.

  2. Launch the Nureva App installer.

  3. Follow the steps to complete the installation.

When the installation is complete, a shortcut to the Nureva App and the connected system will be available on the computer’s desktop.

Launch the Nureva App

  1. Launch the Nureva App using the desktop shortcut.

  2. The Nureva App home page will open.

  3. The HDX system will be automatically detected.

  4. Follow the setup steps to set up the HDX as the default audio device.

The HDX system can now be managed locally using the Nureva App directly from the connected computer.
