Physical specifications

Width: 6.30 in (160 mm)

Height: 16.06 in (408 mm)

Depth: 2.35 in (60 mm)

Weight (without bracket): 2.4 lb. (1.1 kg)

Weight (with bracket): 3.6 lb. (1.6 kg)

VESA support: 100 mm x 100 mm

Safety requirement

Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. The mounting surface and hardware must support at least four times the equipment weight — a minimum of 9.6 lb. (4.4 kg) for a component weighing 2.4 lb. (1.1 kg). Insufficient support can cause serious injury or property damage.

Mounting considerations

When selecting a third-party mount for the microphone pod:

  • Ensure the mount is rated to support at least 2.4 lb (1.1 kg).

  • Verify compatibility with the 100 mm × 100 mm VESA mounting pattern.

  • Position microphone pods near primary talker locations whenever practical.

  • Avoid mounting locations near HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) vents, projectors or persistent noise sources.

  • Do not cover or obstruct the microphone openings.

  • In rooms with higher ceilings, consider projector poles, suspended structures or other mounting methods that position the pod within the recommended height range.

Mounting options for the microphone pod

Projector pole and suspended mounts

In rooms with high ceilings or limited mounting surfaces, projector poles and suspended mounting solutions can help position microphone pods within recommended installation heights.

Microphone pods typically perform best when mounted approximately 8–15 ft (2.4–4.5 m) above the floor. In spaces with ceilings above this range, an extension pole or suspended mount may improve microphone coverage. These solutions may be useful when:

  • Ceiling heights exceed recommended mounting ranges

  • Structural ceiling features prevent direct mounting

  • Existing projector infrastructure provides a convenient mounting point

  • Additional audio coverage is required over seating areas

When using projector poles or suspended mounts

  • Do not obstruct microphone openings.

  • Minimize vibration and movement.

  • Avoid placing pods near HVAC vents or persistent noise sources.

  • Ensure all mounting hardware is appropriately rated for the installation.

  • Maintain recommended HDX placement guidelines whenever possible.

Recessed and architectural mounting

For projects where aesthetics are of primary concern, recessed or flush mounting solutions may help integrate the microphone pod into the room while reducing its visual impact. These solutions are commonly considered in:

  • Executive boardrooms

  • Architect-designed collaboration spaces

  • Higher education facilities

  • Rooms with strict aesthetic requirements

When selecting a recessed solution for the microphone pod

  • Ensure microphone performance is not obstructed.

  • Maintain adequate ventilation.

  • Do not exceed the system operating temperature of 0° C to 40° C (32° F to 104° F).

  • Preserve access for service and cabling.

  • Follow all installation instructions provided by the mounting hardware manufacturer.
