Setting device IP address for HDX systems

Prev Next

The Nureva® HDX series is coming soon.

Technical support articles are being prepared ahead of HDX availability and may be updated as features, functionality and guidance evolve.

This article outlines the steps for setting static and dynamic IP addresses for HDX systems using the Nureva App and Nureva Console.

Each Nureva HDX system has two network ports: Port A and Port B. The IP address can be set for both ports and the HDX system can be connected using either port. Port A allows only for a direct Ethernet connection between a computer and the HDX system.

Note: After you reset your IP address you may lose access to current logs. If you would like to keep your existing device logs, ensure you download them before resetting your IP address. You can download your logs on the Tools page in the Nureva App and Nureva Console.

Setting a static IP address — Nureva App

  1. Open the Nureva App and enter the HDX system’s IP address and enrollment code. Then press Continue.

    • If the enrollment code has been replaced with a password, enter the password.

  2. The app will advance to the Nureva App home page.

  3. Open Settings and select Network.

    • On the Network page, the network information for both ports is available.

  4. Select the port (Network A, Network B or both) that will be updated with the static IP.

  5. In the drop-down menu, change the setting to Static.

    • Four fields are available — IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS.

  6. Enter the new IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS.

    • Multiple DNS entries can be used, but they must be separated with commas.

  7. Press Apply at the bottom of the page.

    • A pop-up window will appear for confirmation.

    • The app will reload the page using the new IP address.

  8. Enter the device password to return to the Nureva App home page.

Important: Nureva recommends setting a private device IP address and ensuring all fields are on the same subnet to maintain access to the Nureva device.

Setting a static IP address — Nureva Console

  1. Go to the sign-in page for Nureva Console and log in.

    • Nureva Console will advance to the home page.

  2. Open Settings and select Network.

    • On the Network page, the network information for both ports is available.

  3. Select the port (Network A, Network B or both) that will be updated with the static IP.

  4. In the drop-down menu, change the setting to Static.

    • Four fields are available — IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS.

  5. Enter the new IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS.

    • Multiple DNS entries can be used, but they must be separated with commas.

  6. Press Apply at the bottom of the page.

    • A pop-up window will appear for confirmation.

Important: Nureva recommends setting a private device IP address and ensuring all fields are on the same subnet to maintain access to the Nureva device.

Setting a dynamic IP address — Nureva App

If a static IP address has been set up for an HDX system, the setting can be returned to a dynamic IP address.

  1. Open the Nureva App and enter the HDX system’s IP address and enrollment code. Then press Continue.

  4. Select the port (Network A, Network B or both) that will be updated with the dynamic IP.

  5. In the drop-down menu, change the setting to Automatic (DHCP).

  6. Press Apply at the bottom of the page.

    • A pop-up window will appear for confirmation.

  7. After confirming the change, the Nureva App will lose connection with the HDX system.

  8. Find the new IP address to reenter the app.

Important: Resetting the HDX system will set a new dynamic IP address and return some device settings back to default.

Setting a dynamic IP address — Nureva Console

If a static IP address has been set up for an HDX system, the setting can be returned to a dynamic IP address.

  1. Go to the sign-in page for Nureva Console and log in.

    • Nureva Console will advance to the home page.
