For installations that include multiple CV30 cameras, it can be advantageous to have the option of disabling the remote control for one or more cameras. For example:
Limit control to a specific camera or cameras.
Help prevent accidental settings changes to the cameras.
Restrict the remote to only control the volume of a Nureva audio conferencing system.
Before you start
When enabling or disabling the remote control for CV30 cameras, there are some considerations that should be noted.
If a camera is connected to the USB hub or a computer, the camera is powered-up, but the camera is not active.
The blue LED on the camera indicates active video streaming, it does not indicate that the camera is powered up.
A powered-up camera will accept the enable and disable command, even when it is not active.
If the cameras are close together, every camera that is powered up will accept the enable and disable command.
The enable and disable command is not accepted if the onscreen display (OSD) menu is open.
The best practice is to enable or disable the remote on one camera at a time, by disconnecting the USB cable from each of the other cameras.
Steps to disable the remote control
Open an application that accesses the camera.
Once the camera application launches the camera view should be visible.
If the camera view is not shown, ensure the CV30 has been selected.
Push the Set button 3 times in close succession, then press Home.
In the camera view “Remote off” will be displayed.
Commands from the remote control will no longer be recognized by the CV30 camera.
