    • PDF

    Article summary

When using Nureva® Console with Nureva audio conferencing systems for large and extra-large spaces, microphone gain adjustment is available. Systems will need to be updated to a firmware version that supports this feature. This setting is available with the Nureva Console desktop client and the Nureva Console cloud application.

    • HDL410 — firmware version 1.4.230803 (or later)

Option 1 — Nureva Console client

    1. Select the Nureva audio device from the Devices list on the left side of the dashboard.

    2. Scroll down to show the Settings options.

    3. Open the Microphone drop-down menu.

    4. Move the Show troubleshooting toggle to the on position.

    5. The Microphone volume gain setting will now be visible.

    6. Drag the slider to the left to reduce microphone gain and drag the slider to the right to increase microphone gain. Your adjusted settings will automatically be saved.

    7. When adjustments are complete, Nureva Console client can be closed.

Note: Moving the Show troubleshooting toggle to the off position does not reset the slider to 0 dB. The settings will be saved, but the slider will not be active unless Show troubleshooting is switched on again.

Option 2 — Nureva Console cloud

    1. Choose the room with the device that you want to adjust with the microphone gain feature.

    2. Select the Nureva audio device from the Devices list on the left side of the dashboard.

    3. Scroll down to show the Settings options.

    4. Open the Microphone drop-down menu.

    5. Move the Show troubleshooting toggle to the on position.

    6. The Microphone volume gain setting will now be visible.

    7. Drag the slider to the left to reduce microphone gain and drag the slider to the right to increase microphone gain.

    8. When adjustments are complete, click the Apply button.

Note: Moving the Show troubleshooting toggle to the off position does not reset the slider to 0 dB. The settings will be saved, but the slider will not be active unless Show troubleshooting is switched on again.

    How it works

The microphone volume gain setting is a single slider, with check marks at the 1/3 and 2/3 points. The default (0 dB) setting is at the 1/3 point. Dragging the slider all the way to the left will reduce microphone gain by 6 dB. Dragging the slider all the way to the right will increase microphone gain by 12 dB.

    What it does

The microphone volume gain setting adjusts the volume of the processed microphone signal that is sent from the Nureva system to the connected meeting room computer. Unlike the microphone volume setting in Nureva Room Manager, this setting does not simply adjust the microphone level in the computer operating system. It creates a second microphone gain adjustment in series.

    When to use it

This setting is intended for situations where the UC&C client is taking control of the microphone volume setting in the operating system and making the audio picked up by the Nureva system either too loud or too quiet for remote participants. Currently, we see this setting as a solution for situations where UC&C clients create a low-volume issue. This setting is accessed through Show troubleshooting because it should only be used to address specific problems.
