# How close to a ceiling can the HDL410 system be mounted?

The Nureva® HDL410 integrated microphone and speaker bars can be installed close to a ceiling. However, keep in mind the following considerations:

- The microphone and speaker bars are not designed to be mounted on the ceiling.
- It’s important to ensure there’s a direct voice path between the people speaking and the microphones.
- The microphone and speaker bars should be mounted on a wall or with a backboard.
- The recommended minimum height for the microphone and speaker bars is 7.1' (2.2 m).
- Placement near noise sources can interfere with the audio pickup of the system. Install it away from noise sources such as heating and air-conditioning vents.
- Ceiling and wall surfaces around the microphone and speaker bars will absorb or reflect sound, which will affect the audio pickup.
- Installing it too close to an adjoining wall or an object may impede the sound quality from the system’s speakers.
