How to calibrate the Dual HDL300 system

    • PDF

    Article summary

The Nureva® Dual HDL300 system has two types of calibration processes — automatic calibration (autocalibration) and manual recalibration. Conveniently for users, the Dual HDL300 system routinely calibrates itself.

During a calibration sequence, the system’s speaker generates a signal that sounds like static. After 15 to 20 seconds, the static-like sound stops and the status indicator lights return to a normal state. At this point, the calibration sequence is complete.

    Autocalibration

Autocalibration is a continuous process and occurs while the Dual HDL300 system is switched on. No user action is required to start or maintain the autocalibration process. It usually takes a few minutes for the system to gather sufficient calibration data and it continues to fine-tune to the room setup over time. This process does not affect functionality and the system is usable during autocalibration.

The Dual HDL300 system auto-calibrates to accommodate changes in the room such as the number of people or the configuration of furniture.

    Manual recalibration

Recalibration of the Dual HDL300 system is completed in approximately 20 seconds. This process automatically starts when the device is first unboxed and switched on. Additionally, recalibration may be initiated manually through a remote control button sequence or by using Nureva Console.

We recommend installing the Dual HDL300 system before switching it on for the first time. If the system is switched on pre-installation, it will still require recalibration after being installed to ensure optimal audio quality.

Recalibration can be manually started at any time, but this is usually done when the room configuration has changed significantly. Do not perform a recalibration sequence and then reposition the Dual HDL300 system or furniture. Make sure there are no audible sound sources in the room other than normal ambient noise (e.g., no music playing, no people talking).

It’s possible to start a recalibration sequence during a call. However, both parties will not be able to hear each other while recalibration is taking place. The microphones and speakers will be temporarily disconnected and the call will resume after recalibration is complete.

    Recalibrate through Nureva Console

The following steps are required to perform recalibration through Nureva Console cloud or client:

    1. Go to Device Settings.

    2. Select Audio processing.

    3. Under Recalibrate, click Start.

    4. When the calibration signal stops and the status indicator lights return to a normal state, recalibration is complete.

    Recalibrate using the remote control

Below are the steps for initializing manual recalibration through the remote control.

    1. Press the F4 button on the remote control five times in quick succession.

      • A single blue light will start flashing on the integrated microphone and speaker bars.

    1. Press the Mute button on the remote control and the Dual HDL300 system will enter recalibration mode.

      • The status indicator lights will alternate between solid red and solid blue.

    1. When the calibration signal stops and the status indicator lights return to a normal state, recalibration is complete.

Note: When recalibrating a Dual HDL300 system, the status indicator lights on both microphone and speaker bars will alternate between solid red and solid blue. Pink noise will be heard from both microphone and speaker bars.
