Yes, a USB extender can be used with Nureva® audio systems. Nureva recommends using the USB extenders listed below. These extenders meet our standards for audio quality and reliability. Using USB extenders — whether active or passive — that have not been validated with Nureva devices may result in reduced audio conference quality due to increased latency and dropped data packets.
Suggested USB extenders
Manufacturer | Description | Model number | Manufacturer’s website |
---|---|---|---|
Icron | USB 2.0, dual port, CAT5e/CAT6/CAT7, 100 m (330') extender | Ranger 2312 | |
Monoprice | USB-A Male to USB-A Female 2.0 Extension Cable — Active 20/28 AWG Repeater, Black 16' | 8751 |
The Icron Ranger® 2312 is dual-port and allows the connection of a third-party camera and other third-party USB devices to the in-room computer when needed.
Alternative to USB extenders
The HDL300, Dual HDL300, HDL310 and HDL410 systems include Ethernet cables used for Power over Ethernet (PoE). USB extenders can be avoided by using a long PoE cable between the connect module and the speaker bar. This will allow the connect module to be placed closer to the host device.
