Reconfiguring an HDL300 audio conferencing system

To reconfigure an HDL300 audio conferencing system, please follow the steps below.  These instructions are not for use during the installation of an HDL300 system.  You will require a Windows PC to complete this reconfiguration.  These steps are based on the hardware being connected according to the system connection diagram.

Nureva Room Manager

Nureva Room Manager is used to configure and manage the HDL300 audio conferencing system.  Please download and install this application before beginning to configuring your HDL300 system.  If Nureva Room Manager is already installed on your PC, you may skip this step.

By default, Nureva Room Manager will launch once the installation is complete. The application will run in the background and will appear when you click the Nureva Room Manager icon in your Windows® taskbar. 


Configuring the HDL300 audio settings

Launch Nureva Room Manager to begin configuring the audio settings.

  • Select Audio conferencing system
    • Select Controls
      • Select Microphone
        • Set Input volume to approximately 80%
        • Set Microphone pickup to Mono
      • Select Speaker
        • Set Output volume to approximately 80%
        • Set Treble to approximately 90%
        • Set Bass to approximately 10%
        • Set Speaker output to Mono
      • Select Audio processing
        • Choose Fast calibrate to quickly set optimal calibration levels.
        • It is important to ensure that there is only the regular ambient noise in the room while Fast calibrate is underway. The HDL300 system is acclimating to the room to optimize sound quality.

NOTE: The message below is shown if the HDL300 system is not the default communication device.

The HDL300 system must be set as the default communication device through Windows Sound settings.  To set the HDL300 system as the default communication device, choose the Change button within the message and make the following adjustments.

  • Select the Playback tab
    • Set the playback device to Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
    • Ensure that all other playback devices are disabled
    • Right-click on Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and choose Properties
    • Choose the Advanced tab and under Exclusive Mode uncheck all options
  • Select the Recording tab
    • Set the recording device to Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
    • Ensure that all other recording devices are disabled
    • Right-click on Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and choose Properties
    • Choose the Advanced tab and under Exclusive Mode uncheck all options

Mac OS and Chrome OS

If you would like to use a computer running Mac OS or Chrome OS, configuring with a Windows PC allows you to save the configuration to the HDL300 connect module.  After completing the configuration with the Windows PC,  it can be removed and replaced with the Mac OS or Chrome OS based computer.  The steps below should be completed for optimum audio quality.

Mac OS

  • Select the Apple menu
    • Select System Preferences
      • Select Sound
        • Select Input
          • Choose Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
            • Adjust the input volume to approximately 80%
        • Select Output
          • Choose Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
            • Adjust the output volume to approximately 80%

Chrome OS

With Chrome OS computers the HDL300 system is recognized as a regular USB device.

  • Select Account
    • Select Audio icon
      • Select USB icon
        • Select Settings
          • For Output choose HDL300: USB Audio 2.0 Headset (USB)
          • For Input choose HDL300: USB Audio 2.0 Headset (USB)
          • Set the volume level to approximately 80%
