Is the HDL300 system compatible with a Microsoft® Surface Hub™?

Yes, for larger meeting rooms, an HDL300 audio conferencing system can be connected to a Microsoft Surface Hub so that everyone’s voice is picked up clearly.

Simply connect the HDL300 system’s connect module USB cable to the USB-A port on the bottom I/O panel. Do not use the side-panel USB ports as these are reserved for media devices and walk-up-and-use scenarios.

From the Surface Hub Windows OS,

  1. Go to the Windows Start icon and go to Settings → Calling & Audio
  2. Under Microphone & speakers, set the options "User this microphone for calls," "Use this speaker for calls," and "Use this speaker for media playback" to Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)
  3. Set the volume slider to 100%

The HDL300 system will now integrate seamlessly with the native Surface Hub Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams™.

Since Surface HUB accepts UWA applications only, Nureva Room Manager cannot be loaded onto the Surface Hub on-board PC. Therefore, when setting up the HDL300 or updating firmware, a third-party laptop is required - simply connect the laptop directly to the HDL300 Connect Module and launch Nureva Room Manager. You can check for updates or preset the audio settings - Volume 100%, Mic 85% and Bass 30%. The settings will be stored on the HDL300 and you can disconnect the laptop, and re-connect the Connect Module to the Surface Hub for normal operation and calls.

The technical specifications for the Surface Hub can be found on Microsoft's website.
