Exporting a canvas
Export a canvas via email as an Excel™ file or PDF.
Canvases can be exported from as PDF and Excel® files. The PDF option allows you to capture the canvas and share it in a static PDF format. The Excel option creates a spreadsheet with movable content that allows you to capture the canvas and share it in a dynamic format.
Export a canvas from:
- The Span web client using a certified mobile browser
- The Span web client using a certified computer browser
- Span Workspace wall client
As shown below, the user is able to view and interact in Excel on an exported canvas. Canvases exported as a PDF are static.
Clicking on the Raw notes and text and Template tabs allows you to view additional details on which user added notes to the canvas and the date the notes were added.
Export a canvas
The export option is in the canvas three-dot menu, which you can open from your list of canvases or from an open canvas.
- Tap the canvas menu and select Export
- Select the export format (PDF or Excel)
- Check the boxes to select recipients for the exported canvas (just you or you and all of the canvas participants)
- Tap Send email
- Open the email and click on the link(s) to download the exported canvas
