A switchable configuration may be useful in a meeting room with a movable divider, partition, wall or door. In this case, the unit may be switched to Dual HDL300 system operation when the meeting area is configured to the larger size, and single operation when it is divided into two smaller rooms.
The room should meet the size requirements when configured for either the single or dual HDL300 system. Sound absorbing dividers should be considered to minimize the reverberation within the room and for minimal sound to pass between the rooms when the single system is in use.
The connect module should have firmware version 2.0 or higher, which supports dual system operation. Also, perform a fast calibration when the unit is switched between the two configurations.
A simple 2-way A/B manual ethernet switch is needed in the configuration to switch in and out the one integrated microphone and speaker bar. The switch needs to support a minimum of 10/100 Base-T Ethernet standard and pass PoE power.
The first set-up diagramed below switches one of the integrated microphone and speaker bars in and out of the system. This allows for a dual operation when the second microphone and speaker bar is switched into the system and allows for one of the smaller partitioned rooms to operate in single HDL300 mode when the rooms are divided.
The second set-up illustrated below switches one of the integrated microphone and speaker bars between two systems. When the “B” position is selected on the switch both configurations will work together as a dual system. When the “A” position is selected, the left microphone and speaker bar will connect to the left connect module and computer, and the right microphone and speaker bar is connected to the right connect module and computer. These two separate systems can each run independently in the two divided rooms.
